Music for Astronauts 06-24-10

Last week’s show was cut an hour short due to Sugarpill doing a special ticket giveaway and was going to need extra time. I decided that with only an hour to play I’d see how many tracks I could fit in before 10:00. This admittedly isn’t the most original mix I’ve done. A lot of these tunes have seen plenty of time on the show so I’ll apologize for the well tread territory. The upside of this is that the mix isn’t actually half bad. There are a couple sketchy mixes here and there, but for the most part I’m happy with the tracks I selected and with how it came out. Enjoy.

Last week’s show! And only 3 days later than I said it would be… 
My lateness notwithstanding this show continues the streak of what I’ve considered to be really good mixes. This week I started off with what’s becoming a habit on MfA which is spinning 45 minutes of mid-90s jungle and then launching straight into pure bass weight. As the person who spun the show it may be uncool for me to say this but whatever. I thought last week’s show was good but I have to say that I like this show way, way more. Enjoy.

Not only is this last week’s show but I stopped being lazy and put the tracklist together.
I have to say that this is probably the most fun two hours of mixing I’ve done in recent memory. Not to say that it’s all perfect but I guess sometimes you just loosen up and go with it and most everything works out fine. I usually like to switch things up at some point during the show but this is pretty straightforward traditional dubstep through and through. If you check out the tracklist, there’s a good reason why that Truth track shows up twice although you might have to watch the video to see why.
